The basis of every idea is realisation. We start that process every day
Everything started in 1946 with a simple but inspired idea: Christian Burkert, the founder and motor of our company for decades, saw the development and manufacturing of innovative products for the basic needs of that time as his job. And he was right on target. With visionary longsightedness, creative inventiveness and enormous energy, Christian Burkert was among the entrepreneurs who laid the foundation of the new economy in post-war Germany.
Inventions such as incubators, foot warmers and oven controls were the first products of the company. The development at Burkert kept pace with the speed of change of times. The progress of automation in industry during the Fifties and Sixties required uncounted new solutions. A trailblazer among them came from Burkert and revolutionized valve technology: the plastic-encapsulated valve coil.
Comprehending technology not only as a means toward an end, but as a challenge - this is our credo. Even if we're sometimes faced with problems that seem impossible to solve. Because, we at Burkert start where others stop. Added to this is our passion to improve even proven things, to make products more intelligent and efficient, but at the same time simpler and more customer-friendly. And we are continuously optimizing our production processes and expanding our international market presence. In this manner, Burkert became a system supplier who is greatly in demand and has a strong international organization that is active worldwide.
Unfortunately it was not granted to Christian Burkert to see his goals and visions realized. He lost his life in a plane crash in 1971. But his pioneering spirit is alive in the family-owned company Burkert. In highly motivated employees who contribute their skills, their knowledge and their good ideas. Day after day.
